Srinagar, July 04  At least two residential houses were damaged in a massive fire incident at the Inderkoot Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday afternoon. An official told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that a massive fire damaged two residential houses in the Inderkote Chana Mahallah area of Sumbal.

He said that the fire engulfed the single-story house of Ghulam Mohammad Parry and Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo both residents of Inderkoot destroying it completely. Soon after the incident, the fire tenders and Sumbal Police were rushed to the spot to douse the flames in order to minimize the damage.

However, in this incident, two residential houses were completely damaged, and property worth lakhs got destroyed,” He said that the cause of the fire was a short circuit, adding there were no reports of any loss of life or injury so far. The official further said that police have taken cognizance and further investigation is on.
