Srinagar Police report that there has been no kidnapping incident in the district in the recent past.
According to the Srinagar police, there is a mischievous rumour making the rounds about a child kidnapping gang operating in Srinagar, which is totally false, and that no such incident has occurred.

The Police Spokesperson stated that there has been no report of child kidnapping in the Srinagar district in recent times and requested the general public not to believe unverified and false information.
As reported by the news agency, the Srinagar police issued a tweet
We would like to inform the general public that there is a mischievous rumor circulating regarding a child kidnapping gang operating in Srinagar. The Srinagar district has not experienced any incidents of child kidnapping in recent history.
